Working with muses.
The human figure is my artistic subject and as a sculptor the form I generally use to express my self. I find it the most complex of all forms for us humans. It is a visual language of its own. I find the figure to be incredibly expressive but above all figurative art is universal to all humans regardless of their time, age or cultural background. The emotions that a figure can evoke in people are common to all of us.
Working with models is a skill. Respecting their feelings is vital, By undressing themselves in front of us artists, models feel vulnerable but it is so important to make them feel safe. When a model is comfortable working the pose feels more natural and both artist and subject can be in tune.
